Friends and Family,
I an so blessed....! I am having a wonderful experience here at the Provo Missionary Training Center. This past weekend was General Conference, and sitting in a room filled with over 2,000 missionaries is a glorious experience. West Campus combined with us for the conference festivities, and there were so many missionaries on campus it was incredible! I got to watch the General Women's broadcast over again (while the elders watched the priesthood session), and I learned so much more watching it again for a second time. One of my favorite talks was By elder Holland; he talked about the savior being homeless himself, and yet still blessing the poor everywhere he went- including the poor in spirit. quote," Numbers do not matter; love does." This is something that I know is very relevant when it comes to sharing the gospel with others- if we can learn to love the others around us, then we are doing our duty to bring others unto Christ. Last night the speaker in our fireside was sure to mention that even if all of our efforts do not end in a baptism or the results that we hoped for, we have done our duty buy inviting others unto Christ by simply loving them as who they truly are- Children of a loving Heavenly father.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to see Elder Sam Smith for a brief moment, and I see Elder Ethington Multiple times a day. Today he told me that Elder Smith left this morning, and I am so excited for him ! I to can not wait until I can start sharing my love of Christ and the word of god with the people in Washington....! I am excited for the seafood, but strangely enough, half of the sisters in my zone can't stand the seafood! I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a Sister Training Leader, and I know that everything that happens in the MTC is inspired, and it is a dedicated building. This morning, my Zone went and did a session at the Provo Temple at 7:00. It was a very spiritual experience, and it has help the Elders and Sisters grow closer together. I would not trade my district for the world - Elder Leber, Elder Packer, Elder Jensen, Elder Barrow, Sister Geraldino, Sister Krebbs, Sister Anderson and I. We have named ourselves 'The Celestial Squad" and we do everything together as a district, rather than Companionships. Yesterday we had time to go on a walk to the temple ( the schedule was a little bit more relaxed because of General Conference) and we took some pictures - what a beautiful temple! (Pictures soon to come hopefully...! )
I am being kept super busy here, but i know that it means there are many blessings in my life, and many more to come; watching the Women's General Broadcast over again, a quote stuck out to me, Sister Linda K Burton shared that she knew someone who had flipped a scripture, so that it instead read d," Where much is required, much is given."
I know that that is so true, and that god is just waiting to rain down blessings if were are willing to work hard and accomplish all that he has asked us to do .
1 Nephi 3:7. GO and DO brothers and sisters!
Tonight Sister Anderson and I teach our investigator Jordan again; he has told us that he is not even sure if god is real. We are going to teach him The Restoration, and ask him to pray to god to ask if he is real- and I issue you all the same challenge - pray to know if god is real, and ask him for answers the you are seeking. I promise you that he will answer - maybe not when you are expecting it, but an answer none the less. Everything is in gods timing, and everything happens for a reason.
I miss you and love you all, and I know that this gospel is true. Families are forever, and Christ suffered for our sins so that we can return to live with our father in heaven again.
I leave you with my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
Sister Megan Chapple
P.S. - today When my district leader ( Elder Jensen) Checked the mail after the weekend.....there was not a single letter for my entire district....!:0 We can only print our a few emails on p-days, so if i receive a handwritten letter, I can spend more time reading it, and issue a more in-depth response! So please send us missionaries hand written letters and packages as well! It means a lot!
