"If all the Raindrops were Lemon Drops and Gum Drops, Oh, what a Rain that would be!"
Unfortunately the rain that is falling here in Elma, Washington is NOT lemon drops, gum drops, candy bars, or milkshakes.
And when it Rains, it Pours.

Sometimes in our lives, we may feel as if we are Living in a Constant Down Pour, and not the good kind.....! But god has given us our agency, to choose liberty, and eternal life OVER captivity and death. Choosing eternal life starts by choosing to be happy now.
The people of Nephi exemplify this principle, when they have the intent to Live after the manner of happiness(2 Nephi 5 :27). This occurred right after many phases of both trial, and blessings for the people of Nephi. It does not say that they were happy all of the time, for we know that that is not possible if we are to gain experience in this life and become like our father in heaven. It does however highlight that fact that we can life after a manner of being. When we decide to become something more, have something greater than before, we are allowing the Lord to shower us with blessings, the kind that is even better than Candy Bars and Milkshakes. If it were to always rain down candy bars, and milkshakes, I am sure that we would not be able to appreciate the deliciousness of them, when we do get to eat them! Could you imagine what it would be like if it really rained candy all the time?
Thats the same theory that god must of had when he designed our existence here on this earth, with our true, and lasting happiness in mind. We do go through phases of drought in our lives, but when we are living the gospel of Jesus Christ, Just like President Uchtdorf Reminds Us;

Obedience to the Commandments of God Truly does bring blessings, and lasting happiness. Put your Umbrellas away, and don't be afraid to dance in the Rain!
If you are lacking a certain element of Joy and Happiness in your life, I would invite you to ponder Who you are, why you are here, and where you are going. By truly understanding your purpose, and who you can become, you will understand that the rain all around you is a shower of blessings, and a gift from god. You have your agency to close your umbrella, and find Joy in the Journey.
Sister Dudas and I have been having a lot of fun this week here in Elma, Walking in the rain, dripping wet, and cold as we are out finding new investigators , and people to teach about The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Sister Dudas is from the Philippines, and she has been in America for 3 months now. Her English is getting pretty good, and she is enjoying the new experiences that she is having here in America, including the Christmas Lights, The 'Fog' that comes out of your mouth when it is cold outside, Huge Pet Cats and Dogs, massive pine trees, eating American Pies, and Vegetable Salads( in the Philippines, a salad is Always a dessert, and it is NOT made of vegetables...) and seeing her first Chipmunk just to name a few. She has never ever seen snow before, so we pray for snow every day. We are already making many memories here in Elma, and are excited for the miracles, and the rain to come (...not the actual rain, the blessing kind!)
Christmas is on the horizon, and I am So very Blessed to be serving the Lord during this Holiday season. Celebrating the gift and birth of our savior Jesus Christ allows us to recognize the blessings that are all around us, and what the most important part of the holiday season is.
I hope you all have a fantastic week, and stay true to the truths that you know.
