Well! its been great here in the WA-TAC these last 2 weeks, and a lot as happened! last week there was a missionary fireside, and I as asked to sing in a group musical number. We sang the song 'If The Savior Stood Beside Me' and there were 3 sisters and 3 elders! It was a beautiful arrangement, and I was pleasantly surprised that I was being asked to sing in one of the firesides, being that it was still my first transfer!. . . . And then the Zone Leaders called and asked if I would lead all of the missionaries at the musical fireside...! So of course I said yes.....but there were a lot of people there...and a lot of missionaries - about 3 or four zones worth! we had Zone lunch at Applebee's which was way fun, and then of Tuesday we had transfer meeting - My new companion, Sister Henderson, is from Spanish Fork. She is the oldest of 5 children in her family, 3 sisters and 1 brother. She attended a year of school at Utah State before coming out here, and she was in Show Choir in High School. She loves to sing and Dance as well - Needless to say, we have a lot in common, and she is way awesome! Her Mother is the State Senator for Southern Utah County, and (for those of you who keep up with Politics,) is good friends with Mia Love. Sister Henderson said that Mia is way awesome, and she is so proud of her for winning the election!
It is getting very cold here in Washington - Tenino is actually at a higher elevation than most of the other cities, and we have been getting a lot of ice and cold lately, once again very little rain. we have to de-ice our car in the morning, and we often use our name tags as ice scrapers! I am Really enjoying being the designated driver ( which comes with taking over your area) and it has helped me to learn directions a lot better! It has been in the 20's , with little to no rain, which is really strange for this time of year! It actually snowed on Saturday( which was the same day that Sister Henderson and I drove up to Tacoma for a baptism!) They say that this is the most snow that Tenino has had in four years! I really hope it starts raining again soon! today we have sunny, blue skies, and everything is frosty cold!
I have started to wear out one of my pairs of boots...so im going to have to get some new ones. I only have 2 pairs ( I love my Merrill boots!) but Im going to have to get another pair soo0n, with all of the walking I am doing! But that's what boots are made for right? You walk around, you wear them out, and then you get some new ones!
On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Sister Henderson and I got to kill our own turkeys!!!! IT WAS WAY FUN! and then we got to eat then for dinner the next day - fresh killed turkey is so good! Sister H was a little freaked out at first, but she came around, and we had a lot of fun! They said we did way better with it then some of the elders in the past- We had to hang them upside down, scramble their brains with a knife, then cut their juggler and let them bleed out, then pluck and gut them- let me tell ya, it was definitely a service project to remember! Brother Mayberry let us keep the wings....so we are going to give them to some of the elders for Christmas...! (hahahahahaha!)
Jerry is still on Date for December 12th, and we have to get him to church at least one more time. we are teaching a woman names sue, and a couple with young children Named Julio and Michelle.
I love this Church, and I know the gospel is true! I Love being a missionary, and I hope you are all enjoying the warm weather! Happy Start of December!
