As a missionary, you talk to a lot of people, and get a lot of doors closed in your face. Here in the WA-Tac, the standard is to knock doors for at least 2 hours every day 5-7pm (except for on P-days, its only 1 hour). If you were to add up all of the hours that we spend knocking on doors, there are probably countless doors that are shut in our faces over the course of our mission! But is a door shut in our face necessarily a bad thing? Perhaps the Lord is just leading us to those people who are searching for truth in their lives, and we had to have those doors closed in order to find a truly open heart.
In life, we face many closed doors, but these closed doors are what leads us to open windows of opportunity. We can choose to go forward with faith, and understand that the closed doors in our lives may seem hard at the time, because it is not necessarily what we want at the time. But we must remember that the Lord loves us, and he is just guiding us to true happiness, and joy in this life, and the next. Closed doors are evidence of Gods love, to be willing to allow us to grow and rely on him, in our lives; after all we can do, the Lord is there waiting for us, with open arms of love -

Never forget that when you face closed doors, and it may seem that doors are slammed in your face, to turn to the Lord for strength to look for an open window!
